Musings On What I'd Love to Changed About My Abode

Home is where the heart is, right? Well, at least that's what I've been hearing. But, unfortunately, I haven't necessarily felt that way in a while, to say the least. I'm a victim of society, of the economy, of unemployment. Worst of all, I am a victim of boredom. And in the countless hours that I sit staring at the empty, bland walls in my new apartment, I think about all that I would do to this place if I was given the tools. I certainly have the time. I would start by painting my bedroom a pale shade of blue, something like seafoam - this colou would go well with my velcro fastened curtains. I have heard that the color blue causes the body to produce calming chemicals. Who knows if there is truth to that? Then I would finish with an exotic saltwater fish aquarium. The living room is next, with a splash of green to lighten the mood and promote relaxation. I would love to add a few plants to the not-yet-existent coffee table to inspire and cleanse the senses. The bathroom would receive a pale yellow makeover, because white is just too plain. Dandilions and daffodils would overwhelm the senses with a sweet musky odor, a small reminder that spring is on its way. You see, the things that matter to me aren't a big flat screen TV, or a three hundred dollar coffee maker, or a vacuum that does the job for me. Heck, I don't even HAVE a television at the moment. But it is these dreams that motivate us to achieve what we want, regardless of what that is. As for me? All I want is to be comfortable in my own home.
